Here, Near, and Far
The Journey family shares the gospel with people locally (Here), within the United States (Near), and internationally (Far). We accomplish this by providing opportunities for adults and youth to serve on missions each year. Some of these opportunities will be in the greater Dayton area, and others will require traveling and partnering with organizations that provide the logistics for the mission work.
Local Missions (Here): We organize and execute a number of local service projects to serve the community or individual families. We meet the needs of others through service and share the gospel with everyone we come in contact with through the projects. We find these projects by reaching out in our communities to see where there are needs that we can meet with our people and resources. We will also serve through impromptu calls for help and support these calls based on the people and resources available to serve.
United States Missions (Near): We provide opportunities for our youth and adults to serve others in the United States. This may include responses to natural disasters or other planned projects to help meet the needs of a community. We team with World Changers and send a team of youths and adults to cities to serve and expand our relationships with the community in need. We will also execute mission work through organizations like Samaritan’s Purse to meet the needs that arise out of national disasters. These projects may include adults and youth based on the timing and constraints of the projects.
International Missions (Far): We are researching international mission opportunities and the organizations that support them. We will pick a country and an organization to support for an international mission in 2024. We will plan the trip, work the volunteers who want to go on the trip to raise funds for the 2024 International Mission trip.
