How to know God
You were made to have a relationship with God. As a result, He gave us Jesus to make that possible. How does that work?
We all blow it and fall short
No matter how hard we try, we all blow it and we all sin. It’s okay to admit that. God already knows. The Bible even tells us, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
Sin has consequences
We just can’t be good enough on our own. No, we deserve consequences for our sin. The Bible explains, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
Because of this, Jesus paid the high price for our sin. Jesus died in our place.
Jesus made a way!
The Bible tells us, “God proves His own love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Now, that’s great news! God loves us so much He made a way for us to be able to have relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus. His sacrifice on the cross made it possible for God to forgive our sins.
Admit your sin and repent
Repent means to express sincere regret and to change what we were doing. The Bible tells us, “Repent and turn back so that your sins may be wiped out.” (Acts 3:19)
God invites us to agree with Him that we need help and to turn to Him for that help.
Ask Jesus into your life
The Bible tells us, “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
It’s that simple. Believe what God said. Accept that Jesus has done everything that needs to be done so we can have a terrific, loving relationship with God.
Pray
If you have decided to believe in Jesus, if you want to receive this great gift God is offering, why not start that relationship with this simple prayer?
“Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Help me turn away from my sins. I want to open my heart and live for You. Thank You for saving me. Amen.”
You’re SAVED! Now what?
If you prayed that prayer, and it truly reflects your belief and desire, welcome to the family of God! We love you! We want to help you know Him better. When you get the chance, give us a call or shoot us an email and we would be happy to answer your questions.
God tells us
For God loved the world in this way: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
John 3:16-17
