Galatians 4:1-31

How people end up trapped in legalism…

1. They choose activity over intimacy.
   Galatians 4:2-3
   Legalism always focuses on the external activity at the expense of inner spiritual intimacy.
2. They exchange freedom for familiarity.
   Galatians 4:9-11
   No one pursues legalism; it pursues you.
3. They fail to recognize the motives of legalists.
   Galatians 4:17
   Holiness isn’t the way to Jesus; Jesus is the way to holiness.

Guardrails:

• Evaluate based solely upon the authority of Scripture.

Red Flags:

• You criticize change consistently.
• You pressure others to resist change

What do we do?

Separate from legalists.
