John 16:5-15

Two ways real change happens:

1. Embrace the life changing power of the sufficient Scriptures
2. Pursue the Spirit-filled life which empowers you to live out the truths Scripture teaches

The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is the action by which God takes up permanent residence in a follower of Jesus.

Six functions of the Spirit in believers

1. He comforts us in our weakness
2. He teaches us
3. He intercedes for us in prayer
4. He provides wisdom
5. He convicts us of sin
6. He empowers us to change

What is our response?

• Sincerely desire to be directed and empowered by the Holy Spirit
• Confess your sins and by faith thank God that He has forgiven all of your sins, past, present, and future
• Present every area of your life to God daily

Tangible evidence of Spirit-filled life

• You will more consistently produce the fruit of the Spirit
• You will experience the Spirit’s power to more consistently resist temptation and sin
